Why I Understand the Journey
of Chronic Pain Sufferer

By Natalie

How can I live my life with chronic pain? Will I ever feel well again? Why don’t people understand how I feel? What changes do I need to make?

Do you live with any questions such as these?

I did.

I was bedridden, miserable and in constant pain for many years before there was actually a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. (At last, someone believed I really was in never-ending pain!) This diagnosis hit me from out of nowhere and flew so contrary to my “Type-A” personality that it took a huge emotional toll. I became depressed, had panic attacks and was on more pills than I care to recall. I kept trying to do the things I used to do, but I found that I just couldn’t keep up.

I felt helpless, powerless, overwhelmed and sad. It felt as if my life was falling apart … one piece at a time. My employer told me to “take my meds and suck it up.”  My friends, tired of how often I cancelled plans, eventually left my life.

Although I still deal with the effects of fibromyalgia pain, I am now fully in my body and am living from my heart. I have wonderful children and friends and an amazing coaching practice. I learned what it takes to break out of old patterns and how to create new ones in order to be at my best.

I help my clients tap into their mind, body and spirit. By doing this, they get clear on what is important to them and what’s not. I support through discovering who they truly are and help them create a roadmap to success.

It is important to seek out a coach who recognizes the demands of work, can help you see career strengths and limits and understands the issues you might be facing with a chronic illness. My intention is that through my journey, you will connect with something new in the realm of what is possible for you.

Let’s discuss how we can work together while you’re living with chronic pain or any syndromes that hurt your chances for workplace success. Times of pain or illness are often when someone most needs support; not necessarily the time to wait for a “better day” to attempt life changes.

"Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be."
